MyoYin Training

In August 2025, the Grace Tempany Method is bringing the first MyoYin training to Ireland, with Lisa Kendellen’s much-acclaimed MyoSculpt Face Therapy as a component.

This 30hr MyoYin & MyoSculpt Face Therapy training is primarily an additional training for 100hr Art of Yin graduates, who will appreciate two very powerful add-on practices to incorporate into their yin classes.

Certificates and CPD points will be issued to all Art of Yin graduates and all trainees who are completing The Art of Yin in Autumn 2025.

Those in other professions, and new students to the Grace Tempany Method are most welcome to participate in this 3-day MyoYin training, and can receive a certificate of participation. However, no formal certificate/CE hours can be offered, as a 3 day training is insufficient to gain a thorough foundation in a practice as potent as Yin.

I understand that many of you are simply interested in nurturing your professional development and your personal practice. You are most welcome to take part in what is a truly groundbreaking experiential learning environment, and I am sure you will gain a very meaningful mini-retreat experience from the 3 days.

An overview of the 3 day training:

  • Fascia Theory & Myofascial Release Techniques

  • Lower body Target Areas & MyoYin Poses

MyoYin vs Myofascial Release…

What’s the difference?

MyoYin - Grace Tempany Method:

  • Integrates mfr balls into long held Yin poses

  • Is a Yin practice of stillness & primarily an additional skillset to add to yin classes

  • Muscles are relaxed

  • Is a 30hr training (including MyoSculpt Face Therapy)

  • Uses primarily a Daoist lens philosophically and energetically

  • Introduces Psoas as the Muscle of the Soul

  • Considers the Vagus Nerve and Nervous System

  • Brings in MyoSculpt Face Therapy to incorporate Myofascial Release for the Face and Neck

Myofascial Release - Functional Yoga Integrated:

  • Uses MFR balls and other props with stillness & movement

  • Can belong with “active/Yang” practices

  • Muscles can be engaged at times

  • Is primarily an additional skillset to add to “active/Yang” classes and represents a separate class

  • Is a 40hr training within The Art of Yang training (Module 2 in Functional Yoga Integrated)

  • Uses primarily an Indian yogic lens, and might refer more to yogic principles in some practices

  • Speaks to the impact of fascia therapy practices and myofascial release finding ones’ true voice, and projecting it outwards into the world

This MyoYin training presumes that participants already have a thorough grounding in Yin as a functional and therapeutic practice within the Grace Tempany Method. It has a thoroughly practical focus, and will not go in depth into functional anatomy, or meridians, as this is covered in The Art of Yin.

What MyoYin is interested in is how myofascial release can be incorporated into the repertoire of yin poses you are familiar with, with the addition of some brand new pose creations. As opposed to Myofascial release and fascia flows which may use the myofascial release balls with movement (part of the Myofascial Release module in The Art of Yang), MyoYin is most directly concerned with the deep somatic integration opportunities that the deep targeted tissue work can offer.

Each day will end with a MyoYin practice specific to the content learned that day (lower body on day 1, and upper body on day 2). On Day 3, trainees will teach (in pairs) so that all graduates leave with the confidence of having guided another through a 60 minute MyoYin/MyoSculpt Face Therapy practice.

You will leave with a manual which will recap the poses and techniques, and explain clearly how the Grace Tempany Method is integrated to make of MyoYin a potent container for somatic self-inquiry. The manual will include MyoYin poses for the lower body, upper body, and neck, with a separate section for Lisa Kendellen’s MyoSculpt face therapy.
